The outdoor accessory & equipment category is one that has largely been devoid of fresh new brands over the past few decades and that is about to change with the launch of Wanaka, New Zealand based KEA Outdoors in the Australian market.
KEA Outdoors was founded 3 years ago by former Fly Fishing guide Matt Butler and offers a range of outdoor gear covering First-Aid/Survival, Tools and Camp Kitchen. The business was launched through crowdfunding site Kickstarter in 2021 and has since shipped over 7000 orders around the world. It is currently also listed in several retail locations in both NZ & Australia and is looking to expand their offering into new retail partners.
The KEA product range has been designed to remove the uncertainty for the every-day adventurer and make preparing for the outdoors easy to understand. Regardless of the activity, KEA wants to provide customers the guidance and choice to pack just what they need to suit their specific adventure, allowing them to explore with confidence.
The core range is based around the ‘KEA KIT | Outdoor Survival System’. This modular and organized ‘build-your-own’ style survival kit gives customers the freedom to choose what is right for them and essentially build their kit ‘on the shelf’. With a range of kits and gear to pack them, this is the perfect choice for retailers looking to provide a complete first-aid/survival offering in one place.
KEA Outdoors now has their entire range available for shipping from their Melbourne DC and is interested in discussing new retail listings with strategic partners. They will be exhibiting at the Australia Adventure Expo Stall A14, and look forward to introducing you to the range.
Dear Exhibitors and Visitors,
We are disappointed to share that due to challenges around new date availability after the unfortunate impacts of Tropical Cyclone Alfred, we have made the decision to cancel the 2025 edition of the Australian Adventure Expo.
While this outcome is not what we had hoped for, we are already planning for an exciting return in 2026. A refreshed format is in development, including the introduction of a dedicated consumer day, designed to expand the event experience and create even more opportunities for adventure enthusiasts to connect, explore, and be inspired.
In the meantime, we don’t want you to miss out on connecting with the incredible exhibitors who were set to participate in this year’s event. You can view the 2025 Australian Adventure Expo Show Guide, which includes exhibitor contact details, to stay connected with the brands and businesses that make this event special.
We would also like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Louise Brooks for her unwavering dedication to the event. Her leadership and commitment have played a significant role in shaping the Australian Adventure Expo, and we are truly grateful for her invaluable contributions.
Thank you for your ongoing support. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2026 for an even bigger and better Australian Adventure Expo!
Kind regards,
